Is Zapiz 0.25mg Safe For Anxiety And Sleeping Disorder?
hello Doctor, My Grand mother is 80years old.She is suffering from arthritis since many years.Rececntly she is showing some symptoms of anxiety and also having sleeping disorders. now she is under psychiatric medication. I would like to know about Zapiz 0.25 mg Enoch has been prescribed by the psychiatrist.will it be a so;ution ? Thanks and regards
Zapiz is clonazepam and it is a benzodiazepine drug. The drug is usually used for short term management of insomnia and in SOS basis for relief of anxiety symptoms. The drug has dependence potential and abuse risk so should be avoided to use continuously for more than 4 weeks. Usually as per guidelines benzodiazepines should be avoided to use in elderly patients as it may worsen cognitive impairment. The drug may increase risk of falls during night in elderly which is a common cause of fracture hip in elderly. As per my opinion it is not safe to use in 80 years of age. If you have some doubts consult her psychiatrist again.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
