Is Zpacks The Right Medicine For Sinus Infection And Fever?

Hi, My husband, age 65, took two Zpacks back to back starting June 18 prescribed for sinus infection and other (eye, possibly ear, moving toward bronchitis) infections. He has yet to recover his stamina. Fever is gone and appetite gradually is returning, but still he is exhausted. We saw our GP yesterday, who seemed to see no cause for concern. He is eating yogurt and/or taking probiotics. Is the exhaustion related to Zpacks? Prolonged infection(s)? Thank you. Concerned Wife

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Exhaustion can be a possible side effect of Zpacks but prolonged infections may also contribute to this as well.

I would recommend her to try to eat well, keep herself well hydrated and rest as possible.

If she is not better in a week or if she is any worse she will need to talk to her doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
