Is A 1.5-centimeter Long Nodule On The Pharynx A Serious Concern?

my husband had an endoscocpy today and they found a nodule (leison) on his pharynx and he is going for a consultation tomorrow with the ent surgeon...they reacted ( the doctors and nurses ) as if it could be serious. it is 1.5 centimeters, what do you think

Hi,

It's difficult to say for sure without seeing that but a nodule may be serious though commonly it is not. A nodule may be a benign growth not causing any big problem, but uncommonly it may be serious like a malignancy.

So it can be serious but most times it's not especially if the patient is healthy and not repeatedly increasing in size or weight loss etc.
