Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is A 1.5g Dosage Of Apriso Adequate To Treat Ulcerative Colitis?
I was taking Lialda, 4.8 g per day for ulcerative colitis with instructions to take two pills in the AM and two pills 12 hours later. It worked great. I am now being switched to Apriso (same coindition) and that dosage is 4 pills all at once in the AM with food. Total dosage 1.5 g per day. Is this dosage for Apriso standard from most gastro doctors and does it equal the treatment I received from Lialda?

Apriso and lialda are commercial brand name of same drug Mesalamine. Your physician has just lowered down your dosage. So you don't neef to be worried.
