Is A Black Dot Near A Fingernail A Sign Of Melanoma?

Hello doctor.... i have noticed a tiny dot on the tip of my index finger,just in front of the finger nail....i was having it before like over 6 months or something...i don t remember the exact time...my cuticle is also little black...i have heard that these signs could indicate melanoma or fungus...can you help me to figure it out the actual problem?

It would be easier to comment if you post photo of it, but it doesnt sound like melanoma and may be just fugal infection or injury. Also, lack of calcium ma lead to nail changes as well. Melanoma is the last thing to think of but in case of rapid growth and pain you should see dermatologist.
