Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Blood pressure depends on a variety of factors such as weight, diet, etc. What is your normal blood pressure reading? Have you just noticed the low blood pressure now or have you had it for a while? I ask this because most people tend to think that there's a specific number we should all have (i.e 120/80) and while 80/60 is low, "true" low blood pressure is blood pressure that is low enough to cause symptoms such as dizziness and fainting. So, unless you have these symptoms, it's also possible that your blood pressure may be a low normal for you.( I had a friend whose blood pressure was 85/70 and for her it was normal.)However, it's best to see your doctor so that he/she can determine if it's normal. Low blood pressure causes dizziness and fainting and you don't want to wait for these effects!
normal: below 130/85 average: 120/80 ideal: 110/80
hi normal: 130-139/85-89
mild hypertension: 140-159/ 90-99
mod. hyp.: 160-179/ 100-109
severe hyp.: 180-209/110-119
