Is A Bruise On The Temple Area Of An Infant A Concern?

My 7 and half month baby somehow climbed out of her crib and fell. She has a bruise on her temple. Should I be worried and take her to the doctor or urgent care? What do you suggest? She doesn t act any differently and still plays and laugh. Please respond asap, thanks.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. As the baby is not acting confused, keeps crying and seems comfortable, there is no need to rush to the doctor or hospital. The bruise will heal on its own in a few days. You can do ice application over the area.

However, if she develops fever, confusion, immense swelling over the injured area or vomiting, then emergency care is needed.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Viraj Shah
