Is A Chest X-ray Report A Concern When Non-homogeneous Opacity With Volume Loss Is Seen With Few Cystic Densities?
Hello doctor, My father s CXR (PA) report shows Non homogeneous opacity with volume loss is seen in right upper zone with few cystic densities suggestive of consolidation. Remaining lung field appears normal. Both costo phrenic angles are clear. Please advise.

As there is consolidation, it means there is possibility of pneumonia or tuberculosis. Better diagnostic is HRCT scan chest. I will recommend Hb, TLC ,DLC , ESR , CRP and sputum examination for AFB besides mantoux .
