Yes, if you don t mind. I am really scared of a surgery I need. Well actually 2. I am in extreme pain also. Anyway, in short I need part of my colon removed before I can get knee surgery (yes double scare). Just out of week stay at hospital. A diverticuliti I have grew across to my colon (fistula?) causing a bridge. On antibiotics and IV fluids one week. Home now on oral antibiotics until the inflamation is down enough for dr to do surgery. I have read really scary things about this surgery. After this surgery I need a torn muniscus repaired. I am 56 and have always been active. I tried to go to work today but am in to much pain. Anyway is colon surgery as dangerous as Im reading or am I just scaring myself. Thank you for time.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Well, colon surgery is extensive procedure which involves resection of part of colon and anastomosis. But generally complication rate is low and this is a routine procedure today which is done in most general hospitals and clinics.
Hope I have answered your query.
