Is A Cyst On The Right Kidney A Cause For Concern?
HELLO DOCTOR. j HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A cyst ON MY RIGHT KIDNEY. i was told by my PRIMARY CARE physician that he does not feel to concerned about the issue. I would like to have your opinion on this matter. i do have some pain on the right kidney. At this time my PHYSIAN feels we should just monitor for further symtopms. We will monitor for now and reevaluate in three months. by doing another ULTRASOUND. my E-MAIL ADDRESS is m.b, YYYY@YYYY
Singular cysts in the kidney are generally no cause of concern, they are very common and do not cause any problems to the patient. During the examination the doctor should have examined the liver as well and very likely he did not find cyst in the liver either (if it is not mentioned to you it very likely means you did not have cysts in the liver). Unless there are several cysts in the kidney or presence of liver cysts as well there is nothing to worry.
If you have back pain and the urinalysis is normal very likely the back pain is not related to the kidney and the most common cause of the back pain is muscular pain especially if it is affected by movement or touch.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
