Is A Dark, Black, Mildly Raised Spot On Labia A Cause For Concern?

Hi, I m an 18 year old female. I came across a dark, blackish spot on the left side of my labia. There is only one and its small & oddly shaped. It didn t appear to be raised, but if it was then it was very mildly raised. I ve never had sex, so it can t be an std. It s not itchy, or bleeding, and I m not sure how long it s been there considering how embedded it was. I haven t told my mother, nor have I seen a doctor. Is it serious enough for that? Or should I even worry? Thanks.

Hi,

A picture would be more helpful to assess. This is likely a mole / nevus. Nothing to worry. Just keep an eye on its size and shape. Get it checked with your doctor if it enlarges, changes in shape or colour or it becomes itchy/painful. Otherwise, just leave it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
