Is A Depression On The Skull After A Chiari Decompression Surgery Normal?

I just had a Chiari decompression surgery. I noticed about a week ago that I have developed a depression in the top of my skull left of the midline. I have been getting headaches also. The depression is about 4 inches long and 1/4 ok much wide. It is soft to the touch. Could this be a side affect of my surgery? Should I contact my neurosurgeon?
