Is A Discolored Area On The Knee Post An Injury A Concern?

A month and a half ago I got sun burn on the front of my calf of my leg with an injured knee. Although not that tender any more, the skin is still very purple. It gets worse when I stand or move around, to the point it almost looks black. Should I be worried?

Hi,

Possibility of local cellulitis or soft tissue inflammation underneath should be ruled out by a surgical or dermatologist review. However topical antibiotics like Fudic acid or oral antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
