Is A Fleet Enema Advisable Before A Colonoscopy?

I had a colonoscopy last Friday but the doctor indicated that the prep did not work. Is it true that the prep should be for more than one day? If the prep does not work, should a fleet enema be used by the patient? What are the best products for a successful colonoscopy?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
Yes, bowel preparation is must for successful colonoscopy.
Usually bowel preparation starts 24 hours prior to colonoscopy.
Taking light food, avoiding oily and fatty food, drinking plenty of water are needed.
Now a days, gastroenterologists do recommend Peglag ingestion.
It is solution of polyethylene glycol to clear all stool from gut.
Enema is also preferred by some doctors to empty bowels.
But don't try any of these by your own. Consult your gastroenterologist before taking these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
