Is A Flesh-colored Bump On The Tonsils A Cause For Concern?
I went to the doctor today for a regular check up. I woke up with a slight sinus infection , some draining and throat sore ness , while looking in my throat he saw a white almost skin tag to the left of my tonsil. Now ive noticed it before over the last year and most times is a flesh color . It appears to turn white as my mouth does when ever im sick. Is this something to be overly worried about ? He is making me a appointment with a ENT but in the mean time my fiance is scheduling chemo in her mind .
Is the swelling painful or painless? There might be a need for a biopsy to see what kind of tissue is it composed of. It’s better to seek advice from an ENT surgeon on this if he suggests a biopsy then it’s better to undergo one.
The swelling can be of benign nature. So do not worry. Follow your doctor’s advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
