Is A Hard Skin In The Portion Of The Finger That Was Bandaged A Cause For Concern?
Had stitches on left index finger. didn t completely sever finger but cut through nail and almost through finger. I had surgery to repair nail bedding. took after bandages to replace and noticed that some of skin is hard on the north side of the cut around stitches.. anthing to be worried about? or is it because of being wrapped up?
I can understand your concern for the hardness of skin after surgery. I feel that the hardness may be the hypertrophic scar. So, no need to worry. After a few weeks to few months, it may be reduced gradually. Still, any doubt. You may consult the dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
