Suggest Treatment For Hard Knot Between Toes After Injury

My son had a stick stab into the skin between the first two toes. It was cleaned out thoroughly and bandaged. It healed completely after a week or so. Now, however, there has developed a hard knot between the toes and Below the skin. He says it doesn t hurt unless he pushes on it firmly but I need to know if its cause for concern.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The hard knot after an injury can be related to the inflammation due to the injury. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Tylenol in case of pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. The knot will relieve gradually.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
