I just received a call that my sister, 80 years old fell and hit the back of her skull. A lump is formed. Apparently, the lump is bleeding internally to the right. She is in hospital today. This happened like 12 hours ago in Singapore. Is this serious?
Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic, From the incident and taking into account the age of patient, there is chance for a head trauma. Old aged patients tend to have severe head injury even with trivial trauma. Since you told she is in hospital, a CT Scan of brain must have been taken. If not it should be done taking into account the age of patient. I cannot comment on the seriousness of head injury with the details you provided. Please reply soon with the CT Scan report and condition of patient like if she is responding to call, if there is spontaneous eye opening,if she is able to understand and do if you tell something. Sorry, but these are the minimum information without which commenting on the seriousness of head injury is not possible. Please do reply. Thank you.
