Is A High Heart Rate Over The Past 48 Hours Cause For Concern?
I have experienced unusally high heart rate over the past 48 hours, my normal heart rate runs from the upper 50's to the middle 60 bpm. Yesterday it was running from 107 to 115 bpm just watching tv. This morning I checked it again and it was 51, now it is over 130 bpm, I just wondered what I may be experiencing.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have high heart rate ( Tachycardia ) over the past 48 hours . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like heart disease , anemia , stress , high blood pressure , smoking , alcohol , caffeinated beverages , side effects or hyperthyroidism. I would suggest you to cardiologist for proper diagnosis and rule out any serious condition . Doctor may order certain test like ECG , TMT , complete blood profile along with troponin t test and checking vitals . Doctor may prescribe anti-arrhythmic medication, betablockers or may give vagal maneuvers . For now stay calm , try to reduce your stress level and take proper rest .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
