Is A Hip Surgery Advisable While On Plavix For Heart Attack?

I just had a MRI on my aching hip and they said there is a significant labral tear. The doctor recommended surgery and my question is, can I have surgery while I am on Plavix for a recent heart attack. Also, what kind of recovery time frame would that be.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* A patient on Plavix, can surely be operated for heart block, with due precautions for bleeding and other parameters per operative duration and postoperative era.

* The anesthetic doctors are managing all the possible issues very nicely with their expertise to avoid such instances.

So undergo for the anesthetic and physician evaluation with necessary reports and decide for the surgery ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
