Is A Hysterectomy Done By Da Vinci Procedure Advisable In An Obese Patient For Fibroids?
yes, please. why as an obese pt. of 317 lbs, would my gynecologist be pushing for me to have my total hyst. d/t fibroids to be done by the di Vinci process when it's not advisable? My guess is the money making profit on his end is why. Please give me some insight!
The use of the daVinci is somewhat controversial, as you hint to in your question. However, there are cases where many doctors believe that it can be very helpful and make the surgery easier to do, and thus safer for the patient. An obese women with fibroids is one of those cases where many doctors believe that the daVinci can be very beneficial; and enable your doctor to do the surgery in a minimally invasive way without having to do open surgery. Of course, every case is different, and you need to talk to your doctor about the specifics of your case. I hope this is helpful, and I hope that your surgery goes well, and that you have an easy recovery. Please let me know if you need any more information
