Is A Lymphocyte Level Of 5% A Cause For Concern?

Is a lymphocyte level of 5% something to be concerned about? I am 48, have MS and take Gilenya, which does lower lymphocyte production, but an absolute lymphocyte count of .21 seems a bit extreme. My RBC count has also dropped to 3.78 and I have lost nearly 20 lbs. (I gave up soda 6 months ago, but I doubt that would shed that much weight, and it continues to drop.)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should consult your hematologist.
Your lymphocyte levels are extremely low and this may be as a result of MS treatment.
Possibly you may need to stop treatment but first, consult your gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
