Is A Nasal Polyp That Cleared Up With Steroids Cancerous ?

I have been told I have a nasal polyp . My doctor can only see one so I am now terrified I have cancer . My nose was blocked on one side but since I was put on a course of oral steroids and a new nasal spray - the blockage has cleared . Surely if it was cancer then the steroids would not have worked . Currently waiting to see an ent specialist but I'm utterly terrified ! No nose bleeds but I've had post nasal drip for past 3 years

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain in case if you are diagnosed with having Nasal Polyp, first of all you should simply RELAX as it is not cancer..
It can be a cause for nasal blockage..
Steroids can help in shrinkage of polyp so it is possible that as took Steroid Oral and nasal spray you have got cleared nostrils and ease in breathing..
Nothing to worry as there is nothing serious and you can consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you a Nasal Endoscopy as well as PNS VIEW of sinuses and it can help in confirming the cause..
In case if it is due to Nasal Polyp either shrinkage with Steroids or surgical removal can be done if steroids do not work..
