Is A Nodule In Thigh Ultrasound A Matter Of Concern?
I had an ultrasound on my inner upper right thigh because of a palpable knot. It measured 2.3 cm somewhat rounded. This is a little heterogeneous and slightly hypoechoic to nearly isoechoic to the adjacent soft tissues. This cannot be charaterized. Indetermindate nodule at the level of clinical concern. Can you tell me what this means?
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. It appears to be a superficial nodule within the subcutaneous tissue. There is nothing to worry except for cosmetic purposes if it is affecting you. It seems a small nodule. The various things which it is likely are lipoma/fibroma. Both of them will not affect your functions in any way. If you want, you can undergo a small surgery and get it removed and after histopathology you will get to know what it is as well as it will be removed from your body. The surgery will be very small maybe 5-10 mins and that too under local anaesthesia so there is nothing to worry in that as well. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery.
