Is A Small Amount Of Fluid In Pouch Of Douglas A Cause For Worry?

i have been told ihave a small amount of fluid in my pouch of douglas and was told that this is ok is there anything to worry about. This found after an ultra sound which i had because i have had a bloated stomach and occasionally get some stomach pains. The GP told me it was probably IBS

Hai,

small amount of fluid collection can be ignored.
but if it goes beyond the recommended level it indicates some infection in the lower abdomen and pelvic cavity.(like abscess,peritonitis,inflammation in uterus)
pouch of Douglas should be examined in the case of pelvic inflammatory disease also.
IBS may be associated with this condition.
