Is A Small Red Spot On Knee Due To Dog S Teeth Touching The Skin A Cause For Concern?

Thank you Dr. in advance. We teased a dog in our hostel which was walking silently then he got angry and try to bite me. Actually he didn t bite me but his teeth touch my knee neither there is any scratch nor any broken skin. But due to the pressure there is a single very small red spot (now almost disappeared) in the part where his teeth touch my skin. Also I was wearing a long pant and there is no mucous in my skin too. I have already taken a tetanus vaccine. Please advice me Dr. Best regards, K. Sashikanta

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

First wash the red spot area thoroughly with soap and water for 10 mins. You have mentioned no scratch or broken skin, but also mentioned red spot. It is better to get rabies vaccination done; prevention is better. There is no harm in taking vaccination; 5 doses on day 0, 3, 7, 14, 28th day from dog bite.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vidya K. R., General & Family Physician
