Is A Soft, Painful Spot On Right Side Of Head A Cause For Concern?
Hello, my name is Jessica and I am in my 20 s. I have noticed a soft spot on my head. It s on the right top side and it hurts when I push on that area. This has been going on for a couple of months. Is this something I should have a doctor look at?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Soft spot on the head what you are describing could be a 'dermoid cyst'. Although it does not cause much harm if left alone, it would be better to get it excised as it might cause much problems if it becomes infected. Since the excision of the cyst is a simple surgical procedure done under aseptic precautions and under local anesthesia, you need not worry about it much. Kindly consult Surgeon in this regard for clinical evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
