Is A Spontaneous Bruise On Eyelid Without Any Injury A Sign Of An Underlying Condition?

Hello, my husband has what appears to be a spontaneous bruise on his left eyelid. He has no other symptoms, no headache, no dizziness, etc. Nor has he been struck in the eye. He is healthy, active and in very fit condition. He is 53 with no major illnesses. I am concerned that there may be some sort of intracranial pressure that has caused this to occur. Should he have an MRI? Could this be a sign of an underlying condition? Thanks for your help.

Hello,welcome to HCM,
1.from the history it is probably a single /sporadic episode due to physical stress/lack of adequate rest/insect bite which may have bruised
2.if it i associated with raised intracranial tension there should be other symptoms like loss of balance/speech/memory disturbances/acute loss of muscle functions etc. which is not in this case .
.other than the above ,bleeding disorders ,alcohol intake may also aggravate bleeding .
3.vit supplements C,B etc . and balanced diet with an eye on avoiding stress will reduce the symptoms .cold fomentation will help too.
4. an insect bite may need a short course of antiallergic pills for a couple of days
happy to help
