Is A Spreading Rash On The Legs, Buttocks And Back A Part Of Vial Fever?

I have a deep bronchial cough that started 3 days ago and when I went to the doctor she took my temp (102.6) and swabbed me for flu. It wasn t flu, but she said it was viral and sent me home with ibuprophen. I forgot to tell her that I had a small rash between my knees. The fever has gone, the cough remains and the rash has spread down and up my legs to my buttock and back. The rash isn t very itchy. Is this part of the viral infection and how do I treat it?

Hello,

It could be a viral exanthem after a fever, Nothing much to worry and these will settle by itself. If lesion persists you can consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
