Is A Stabbing Pain In The Lower Right Abdominal Area Due To Appendicitis?

I’m having sharp quick stabbing like pains in my lower right abdominal area almost next to my pelvis. It woke me up a couple times last night. This afternoon they’ve been occurring about every 5-15 minutes. They don’t last...just a sharp jab. That is my only symptom I am currently having. Could this be appendicitis?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

* The pain in right lower abdomen can be due to appendicitis, ureter colic, terminal ileal inflammation, diverticular disease or else.

* Better to undertake a CT scan of the abdomen & pelvis for the diagnosis and further curative actions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
