Is A Tendency To Say Things Repeatedly Indicative Of Alzheimer’s Disease?

My boyfriend is 52. I am worried he has symptoms of pre-alzheimers . He takes sleeping pills and stress medication regularly and I have read they have side effects relating to alzheimers. He has a tendency to tell me the same thing over and over again. He also can remember things from 20 years ago in excruciating detail.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a sign of Alzheimer’s disease. Consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

An MRI scan is required to rule out central causes. Drugs like donepezil can provide symptomatic improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
