Is a thyroperoxidase antibody of 109.9 iu/m cause for concern? I have been treated for both hypothyroidism (low t3, t4, and very high thyroperoxidase antibody) and hyperthyroidism (non-detectable tsh and thyroid gland 2.5 times it s normal size). My current healthcare provider says that it is impossible that I could have had both hyperthroidism and hypothyroidism and will not address the problem because t3, t4, and tsh are all within normal range. Current symptoms include chronic cough, hoarseness, severe joint pain especially hands and feet, huge wads of hair in my hairbrush every morning, and unexplained weight gain in spite of severely restricted diet for diabetes and kidney disease, and regular, ruthless workout routine.
