Is A Total Knee Arthroplasty Advisable For Bone Spurring?

I have a subluxation patella with bone spurring complete loss of cartilage and loss of sense of stability...TKA is the best and only real viable solution after two opinions. I don t have severe pain yet. Is it advisable to wait until pain is more the issue versus stability. I have dealt with this for 11 years and is starting to affect the way I walk.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Even though you are not suffering from pain, total knee arthoplasty followed by physical therapy will help stabilizing your knee and improve overall quality of life.
However, depending on your general health condition the risk of surgery should be assessed against benefits and you and your surgeon should come to a decision.

Hope this answers your question
