Is A Visible Painful Lump In The Abdomen Caused By A Hernia?
My fiancé has had a knot in his abdomen that will push out when he is lifting or even sometimes when he just moves a certain way. He has had this on going for about 2 years. It has got bigger in size and is painful when hit pops out. He has said something to the doctor and she had a sonogram done but the tec doing the sonogram said the doctor was wanting a sonogram of his pancreas..... I need to know what specialist he needs to see about this? I am pretty sure he has a hernia and it is getting worse.
The symptoms and signs are typical of hernia. Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, you can go for surgical repair. Laparoscopic repair is preferred as it has got better results and recurrence is rare.
