Is A White Lump On The Scrotum A Cause For Concern?

I have a huge white pimple on my scrotum I just popped it very easily but should I be worried about it? I mean my job I m constantly walking and running and moving things for 9 hrs a day and I got it in the area where my scrotum would rip with my thighs is there anything I should do about it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
I think it is folliculitis or Fordyce cyst or debaceous cyst
Other cause may be:
1. Blocked hair follicle
2. Blocked sweat gland
3. Molluscum contagium
4. STDs: syphilis and gonorrhoea

Advice:
Antibiotic : cefixime
Apply neomycin lotion
Do not pop up
If not respond to medicine consult the doctor and drain it.
Wear loose pure cotton inner wear.
Keep area dry and clean.
Avoid excessive sweating

If remain for long time
You should consult the surgeon and do following test:
1. Blood: CBC, ESR
2. STD screening
3. USG and color Doppler of scrotum

That help in diagnosis
and then take treatment

Hope this may help you
Best regards
dr. Sagar
