Is A White Plaque Around The Stitches Site On The Bottom Lip A Concern?
I received stitches on the inside of my bottom lip on Monday and I have noticed this white plaque looking stuff around the stitches. Is this a normal part of the healing process? I'm not bleeding nor have I felt more pain. I also have four stitches on the outside of my lower lip and I don't have any discharge from there, so I am just wondering what the white stuff on the inside of my lip is. Thank you!
You have symptoms of white plaque around the stitches site on the bottom lip, which is a normal process of healing. Need not to worry. Usually, it will take seven to ten days for the lesion to heal, and then stitches are cut. You need to take a proper course of antibiotics along with preventive measures for faster healing. Take tablet riboflavin one tablet daily. Keep the area dry and avoid any contamination with foreign agents. Avoid any hard cosmetics. If any scars will be there post suture removal applies Hexilak silicone gel.
