What Causes White Bump Under Lip At The Site Of Stitches?
I had a bike wreck 4 days ago. I got 4 stitches in the middle of my bottom lip. Tonight there appeared a white bump under my lip diagonal to the stitches but it s half way touching the stitches and my lip but is mostly on my skin underneath. What is this? And should I be worried?
Understanding your concern. White bump under lip at site of stitches seems to be due to excessive growth of fibrous tissue. The inflamed soft tissues get overgrown and at times the hematoma becomes localized, appearing as bump. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses over affected area. Apply Thrombophob gel. Avoid lip biting and excessive eating of spicy food. If symptoms keep on persisting visit dermatologist once and get it examined completely and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
