Is Abdominal Swelling And Intense Pain Normal After Fracturing Ribs?
Is it normal to have abdominal swelling and intense pain 2 weeks after fracturing rib 9 & 10 on the right backside? I felt better this past Monday but had to take employer paperwork to my family doctor on Tuesday and hurt myself trying to get into my Tahoe to drive......now I have a swollen area in my back that hurts when it didn t hurt before.

Well come to HCM
Although such swelling may not be due to the fracture of rib but this need to be investigated for underlying cause because this is not normal one, some time this may not be pure swelling but could be just mimic of this and this can only be confirmed by clinical examination and better to get it done, hope this information helps, take care.
