Is Accidental Dosage Of 3 Piriton Tablets In A Day By Child Harmful?
My daughter is 8 I gave her 1 periton tablet at 9 30 this morning then around 3 pm a 5 ml of zirtec , then around 7 a 5 ml of zirtec then at 10 tonight she took 2 periton tablets instead of one she took her brothers tablet as well by mistake wil she b ok?
As per my clinical experience, the Piriton contains Chlorpheniramine maleate, an anti-histamine drug used for allergy control purpose by many consultants. Accidental ingestion of 2 tablets against one of Piriton does not provoke any significant side effects apart from mild increase in sedation and sleepy till the effects ware off. It is best recommended to omit her morning dose of Piriton to be on safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
