Is Acid Reflux With Productive Cough Normal After A Disk Diskectomy?
MY HUSBAND JUST HAD A DISKECTOMY IN HIS C3-4 NECK. HE IS NOW SUFFERING ACID REFLUX & CHOKING ON PHLEM, LIQUIDS & FOOD. THEY SENT HIM HOME ON A LIQUID/SOFT DIET AND WE HAVE TO THICKEN ALL LIQUIDS. SUSPECT SWELLING AT SURGERY SITE IS THE CAUSE. IS THIS TEMPORARY OR COULD IT BECOME CHRONIC? D

It could be pneumonia. If you are uneasy with his condition, I suggest you go to the department where he had surgery to have him readmitted, alternatively go to the ER.
