Is Adhesive Capsulitis Hereditary?

Hi there, looking for some quick assistance. I am aching in my left shoulder. My mother (type 1 diabetic) suffered for nearly two years from adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) in both shoulders. Is this hereditary? I haven’t done ANY heavy lifting or physical exertion to cause this. I’m 25 years old, no health issues whatsoever, and am suffering from intense pain in my left shoulder, radiating down nearly towards my wrist. What do you recommend??

Hello,

Thanks for asking a question at HCM

I will be glad to answer it for you

No, Frozen shoulder is not hereditary. But, it is commonly associated with diabetes for reasons unknown]

You need to be investigated to know if this is Frozen shoulder or not.

Physiotherapy works well to cure it. If pain is severe, you will be prescribed NSAIDs.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
Dr Chaithanya
