Is Air Travel Advisable When Diagnosed With Cervical Incompetence?

I am currently 13 weeks 5 days pregnant, and at 14 weeks 5 days im to have a cervical clerage inserted, due to cervical incompetence. when I m about 21 weeks I m due to fly a 3 hour trip to my brothers wedding... Please any advice would ease my mind.. Thanks

Hi,

Air travel as such does not cause miscarriage or preterm labour. If your doctor has suggested to take complete bed rest, then I would suggest you to avoid the travel. Otherwise you can travel if it is a short flight.Also the place you are travelling to,should have a tertiary care hospital and a neonatologist who can handle a preterm labour.
