General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Duloxetine is a medication mostly used for major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain.
It can have serious effects on your body when mixed with other substances such as alcohol. Alcohol and duloxetine can cause liver damage, induce excessive sleep and aggravate depressive symptoms.
Hence you need to avoid intake of alcohol while you are taking duloxetine.
Hope the information provided helps.
Best wishes.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
