Is Alcohol Consumption Safe When On Xeralto ?

Hi I stopped taking the medication Xeralto 20mg/day at evening meals about 24 hours ago. is it safe to say i can consume 3-4 alcoholic beverages such as beer or apple cider now without worrying about negative intetactions between the alcohol and xeralto?

xerlto is an anticoagulant given before bone surgery. you can take beer or apple cider. there ino negative reaction betw een alcohol and the drug.

I can understand your concern, you will have to stop taking alcohol while on Xeralto tablets.

Xeralto is an anti coagulant-used to make your blood thin to prevent the clot formation. If taken along with alcohol or alcohol containing beverages the action the main purpose (prevention of clot formation) will not be achieved. Since Alcohol is known to enhance its clearance from the body very rapidly so the blood thinning action of Xeralto will be abolished.

Beside, alcohol is a known poison to human beings as shown by various scientific studies in the world.

Prevention is better than cure.
