Is Alcohol Intake Dangerous During Treatment For Strep?
Hi. I was diagnosed with strep on Saturday (even though the doctor didn t do a swab test). I am currently taking cefadroxil 500 mg, twice a day. This may be a completely silly question, by my 21st birthday is on Tuesday, during which I will still be on the antibiotic. I know it is a bad idea to drink while finishing out the antibiotics, but I had seen some reviews that you could moderately consume alcohol on this specific antibiotic. I am totally fine not drinking on my 21st, but I was wondering if it was possible to have one drink? I just wanted a opinion that wasn t just on google. Thank you.
Yes, you can have one drink ( the equivalent of 30ml of pure alcohol) on your birthday, as desired by you. I am presuming that you are in a country where alcohol is legally allowed. This much of alcohol will not interfere with your antibiotic or the disease. Happy Birthday!
