Is Alcohol Intake Safe Before Undergoing Open Heart Surgery?
My Fiancé has just been diagnosed with severe aortic valve regurgitation and will definitely need it replaced via open heart surgery. We are getting married in October and he has his Stag do in two weeks time with an outpatients appt to meet the surgeon and discuss dates of the operation the day after he is due to return. He s been told not to exercise! But alcohol has not been discussed as we d like - as you know a mans stag do won t be a sober one. Especially as they are flying to spain for it. I d just like to know if there are massive risks and dangers of making it worse etc if he goes and drinks? Thank you in advance!
