Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have allergy asthma. Is it contagious? I m on Flovent, Flonase & Prednisone (5 days)- 2 weeks Wed. I also have a sinus infection cause I started coughing up green phlegm. Taking DoxyHyclate 100 mg (antibiotic) - 2 week Friday. Why am I still coughing so much? Thank you, Martha
No, allergic asthma is not contagious, but a sinus infection might be. So I would still advice practicing some safety precautions. Cough from Allergic asthma is very difficult to treat. I would advice a bronchodilater inhaler or nebulisation till cough is relieved. You can talk to your doctor about the drugs and dosages. Also try to find the allergen like pollens or dust that is persistently around you, which may be the reason for the allergy.
Hope this answers your question, thank you.
