Is Amitriptylines Correct Medication For Trapped Nerve ?
i have trapped nerve in my right ear . doctor has prescribed amitriptylines? is this correct medication for my problem?

1. If your diagnosis is Trigeminal Neuralgia, amitriptyline 25 mg thrice a day is fine. The Trigeminal Nerve is the Fifth Cranial Nerve. Other medication options are carbamazepine and gabapentin.
2. The Facial nerve which travels through the ear is a motor nerve and not a sensory nerve. The Facial Nerve is the Seventh Cranial Nerve.
