Is Amniocentesis Test Safe For Fetus?

Hi, I am 40 years pregnant and I and my husband think about having amniocentesis test to be sure that our baby will be healthy and won t have scary genetic illnesses. I now have 14 week pregnancy. All blood tests and ultrasound were good. But 40?.. How safe for baby health is this test? Thanks

Hi,
This is a good option. The test is safe, except for a low level of complications which is with every procedure. If you can do the test in a recognised institute it would be better.
