Is An ER Visit Advisable For A Trigeminy PVC?

PVCs. Diagnosed by: EKG, ultrasound of heart and valves, treadmill test, Holter monitor, and an IV-induced stress test where I laid down the whole time. 2 years ago had 10% PVCs. Then a year ago, they jumped to 25% at times. Was prescribed a beta blocker which knocked PVCs down to 5%. No heart issues. This week, am having the second episode of PVCs that occur after every beat, every 2 beats, 3 beats, seldom 4 beats, but never more. Just took BP at home 87/75. When should I go to the ER? 65 yrs old, still run 5K s, walk or run nearly daily, that all seems to go well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If your have no symptoms like chest pain, feeling dizzy or shortness of breath, you may not need to go to the ER. However, if any of these symptoms then you should go urgently. Regarding its permanent management. If it is this much, like every 3 beats, ( or 25%) then you can go fro electrophysiologist to discuss the option of RFA ( Radio frequency abalation). At the moment you should continue beta blockers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
